Introducing iASYS’s integrated platform for testing EV motors, CVTs, transmissions, and differentials on a single system, helping reduce infrastructure costs and change over time.
Introducing India's First Universal EV Powertrain Test Rig for End-to-End Product Development and Validation
iASYS launches a single integrated platform that validates EV motors, CVTs, transmissions and differentials together — cutting test infrastructure cost and changeover time while giving engineering teams one system built to scale with next-generation electrified powertrains.
iASYS Technology Solutions has launched the Universal EV Powertrain Test Rig, a first-of-its-kind platform in India built to bring EV motor, CVT, transmission and differential testing onto a single integrated system. Where drivetrain validation has traditionally meant running separate dedicated benches for each component, the new platform is designed to replace that fragmented setup with one flexible test infrastructure — built for engineering teams developing conventional, hybrid and fully electric powertrains side by side.
The launch responds to a problem the industry has been quietly absorbing for years: as drivetrain architectures multiply across electrified and conventional platforms, so does the cost and complexity of validating them. Every dedicated test bench adds capital expenditure, floor space, and setup time — costs that compound as engineering teams test more variants in parallel to keep pace with fast-moving EV and hybrid powertrain roadmaps. The Universal EV Powertrain Test Rig is iASYS’s answer to that fragmentation.
One platform, engineered for every drivetrain
At its core, the platform combines mechanical driveline, dynamometer and automation systems into a single integrated architecture, supporting EV motor, CVT, transmission and differential testing without the need for dedicated benches. iASYS’s own Road Load Simulation (RLS) software runs at both the powertrain and component level, reproducing real-world load conditions with precise control over torque, speed and inertia up to 10,000 rpm and 1,000 Nm.
Test automation is powered by iASYS’s Orbit-T platform, enabling recipe-driven test execution with integrated safety management — so engineers can run complex, repeatable test sequences without manually reconfiguring the rig for every drivetrain variant. An integrated climatic chamber extends the platform’s range from –20°C to +100°C, letting teams validate drivetrain performance and durability across cold-start, ambient and elevated-temperature conditions on the same system.
Built to cut cost without cutting corners
The platform is designed around a simple premise: consolidation shouldn’t come at the expense of accuracy. In deployment, the Universal EV Powertrain Test Rig has enabled engineering teams to validate four different drivetrain UUTs on one integrated platform, reducing capital expenditure and lab footprint by 40–50% compared to running separate dedicated benches. Setup and changeover time between test configurations dropped by 40–60%, and the platform carries roughly 30% future performance headroom, so it’s built to support higher loads and next-generation electrified powertrains as they arrive — not just today’s.
Just as central to the platform’s design is making a technically complex system simple for day-to-day test engineers to operate. High-speed, synchronised data capture across mechanical and electrical domains, paired with Orbit-T’s recipe-driven automation, means teams get accurate RLS testing with high control fidelity without needing to manage the underlying complexity by hand.
A platform built for what comes next
For engineering organisations building conventional, hybrid and electrified drivetrains under one roof, the Universal EV Powertrain Test Rig points to where test infrastructure is heading: fewer, more capable platforms designed to flex across UUTs and operating conditions, rather than a growing fleet of single-purpose benches. As electrified powertrains continue to diversify, iASYS is positioning this flexibility — not just raw test accuracy — as the platform’s defining advantage.
